Wire es una banda británica de rock formada en 1976. Originalmente conformados por Graham Lewis (bajo y coros), Bruce Gilbert (guitarrista), Colin Newman (cantante y luego guitarrista) y Robert Gotobed (batería). Considerados como la banda más innovadora de la escena punk de fines de la década de los '70. Además de ser llamados pioneros del post-punk y el art punk. En el año 1987 editaron The ideal copy.
