Dead Kennedys es una banda Punk formada en 1978, por East Bay Ray (Raymond Pepperell Jr.) un joven fanático del Rock and Roll y la música surf. Consiguió a los otros miembros de la banda poniendo un anuncio buscando gente para formar un grupo. A éste responde Eric Boucher, conocido como Jello Biafra. En el año 1986 editaron Bedtime for democracy.
