  Formada en 1980 por el guitarrista Vinnie Stigma, cuyo nombre verdadero es Vincent Cappucchino, bajo el nombre Zoo Crew reclutan al cantante Roger Miret, al poco tiempo son agregados Ray Barbieri, alias Raybeez, ex Warzone, como baterista y Adam Moochie como bajista, cambiando el nombre de la banda a Agnostic Front.

 En la semana santa de 1976, Stiv Bators se trasladó a Nueva York, invitado por Johnny Thunders, que en esa época se encontraba plenamente involucrado en The Heartbreakers después de haber abandonado New York Dolls. Seducido por el ambiente de Nueva York, Stiv animó al resto de sus compañeros de Frankenstein a mudarse a la ciudad. El grupo se refundó en 1976 con el nombre de Dead Boys. En el año 1987 editaron The return of the living Dead Boys.
